I know you read an article about how AI is so cool it can insult other people like any 13-year-old bro can. It can’t. It’s not insulting anyone, not on its own anyway. These articles are misleading. Every class on AI will tell you, along with every so-called expert, that AI is a utility to help you accomplish tasks. Would you let your hammer decide what hamburger to buy today? How about your wallet telling you the weather? People are attempting to make AI do things it is not ready for.

I’m focusing on generative AI because it’s the tool I use for many tasks I cannot accomplish independently. For example, I am no artist. I can barely draw a straight line with a ruler. My hobbies, however, require some artistic ability, so I lean on AI because they’re hobbies. I’m not paying someone to draw me a picture of a drone. I wouldn’t even call what I use AI, not really. I use it to put together videos about various topics I write about. I don’t use it to write because I’m not a terrible writer (I don't think I am, anyway). I would use it for voiceover either if I weren’t as chronically ill as I am and talking didn’t wear me out.
